28 Haus in Zürich-Höngg Project

The house on the hill aims to interpret familiar elements of the bourgeois urban villa in a contemporary way. The rooms are open to use, versatile and adaptable to a variety of lifestyles. The simple and systematic spatial structure becomes denser towards the center and naturally divides the rooms that lie orthogonally to the slope. Diverse views and paths create a sense of spaciousness in the densely organized living space. The volumetric recession of the house along the slope leaves plenty of space for the street below the plot and naturally creates outdoor spaces on different plateaus. Thus, despite their consistent basic structure, the apartments on the different floors are oriented first to the side and then downwards. The top floor rotates the internal structure by 90 degrees and, thanks to adapted room heights, gives the house a strong upper finish.
