The pavilion in the park is designed as an open meeting place in the university district. It is intended to serve as a place for use and encounters for everyone — institutions, local residents, commuters, and visitors. Thanks to its maximum diagonal extension and the spatially encompassing effect of its roof, the pavilion is able to connect with the place on various scales. Its form is both a precise, contextual fit and a self-assured shape. A slightly distorted, site-specific axis grid mediates between the street alignments, which are rotated by 102°. The precise lines of the roof follow the internal logic of its geometric independence: between the two circular arcs of the forecourt and the parking area, and along the set-back street lines, the pavilion finds a form that, depending on the perspective, makes it appear as a roof accompanying the street, a gateway to the park, or a freely formed, shade-providing garden hall.
